Theriot is really hurting the team. How much longer is this guy going to play?

And because GatewayRedbirds loves copying our stuff to their site after we lose, I give you this little piece of enjoyment...

The quality of umpiring was pretty poor in many ways today.

That being said, we can't expect to win games started by Jeff Suppan or Blake Hawksworth.

It may have been poor but its not what made you lose today or yesterday. The Cubs have been on the other end of bad calls plenty this year. It sucks, but it happens, and saying you are playing 2 teams is just sour grapes.

In a similar vein, it's hilarious following the Reds fans over on Reds Zone right now. A number of them absolutely despise the Cubs, but in their scoreboard watching thread, their posts pretty much mirrored ours, complete with hatred of Ryan Theriot!

There were some very questionable calls, that's all. It's also interesting to see the Cardinals lose 3 straight right after they go on an 8 game winning streak, and somehow I'm not surprised.

There are questionable calls all the time. Byrd being called out at 1st was a questionable call the Cardinals received. Like I said the Cubs have been on the wrong end of some pretty blatant bad calls this year, it happens. The Cardinals lost because their starting pitching has sucked the last 2 days. Point blank, no if, ands, or buts. about it.

Castro OPS watch: 807 and climbing.

:yahoo:

I'm waiting for the numbers to update, but coming into today, Castro was 7/15 with a .467/.467/.467 line against the Cardinals in his career. He's now up to 10/19 with a HR and a double. :good:

You are right about there being questionable calls all the time. The SP has been bad the past 2 days, there's no denying that. The difference between why the Cubs won and why the Cardinals lost was Molina's error. Great teams are able to get around that, the Cardinals aren't a great team, for this year anyway. I fully admit that even though I'm a Cardinals fan.

I'm pretty sure it was 2 teams playing 2 teams. Cubs/Umps vs. Cardinals/Theriot

The last two days have gone a long way toward soothing the pain of this miserable season.

If they somehow finish the job tomorrow night, it would be a very sweet thing.
