Awesome fake rally. Been a while since weve seen a good one. I guess, we can blame the pen all we want, but the offense had no shortage of chances in the 9th-11th innings. That being said, a big [expletive] off and die to Howry and Stevens. I guess we'll never know if Lou didnt knee jerk Russell out for Stevens. Stevens can go back to Iowa and Howry can go to wherever broken down players go.

As for Colvin, Im not jumping on the Colvin sucks bandwagon by any means, but the kid really needs a few days off.

Maybe we were better off with the ha ha bad Cubs than these decent, inconsitant Cubs. At least the Ha ha bad Cubs would have netted us a better draft pick.

Thank God Aramis went nuts last night or our butts would have got swept by the terrible Astros.

I believe this will make us what 0-3 in series against the last place Astros this season?

Yet we are 1-0-1 in series against Philly?

Don't forget about 0-4 against the Pirates also.

Pirates are really an awesome team. Every other team in baseball just plays extra hard against them.

I wish I could be like some of you guys and just not give a [expletive] about this garbage.

Instead, this crap enrages me and ruins my [expletive] day. Only the Cubs pull this [expletive]... yeah I look like a whiny [expletive] saying that but you all know its true. Any other team ends this game in the 9th, 10th or 11th. And no other teams bother getting 2 in and 2 on to get our hopes up.

Koyie Hill goes 0-4 with 4 k's and fails to execute a sac bunt while Soto cracks a 2 run bomb in his only AB.

Wow, who saw that coming?

You're the driver and president of the "Colvin needs to start everyday" bandwagon, so you're not allowed to jump on the Colvin sucks bandwagon.

starlin got 2 doubles, lilly had a nice start (good for trade purposes), geo hit a home run and the cubs lost. i see no negatives here.

Well you certainly couldn't have started him the day after a night game. Sheesh, everyone knows that.

soto had two ABs.

i don't really have a problem with playing hill - soto has played a lot lately and two straight days off is not a bad thing. the bigger problem is that koyie hill is just an awful baseball player. you want your backup catcher to at least be able to hit a little bit, and hill cannot do that. there is zero reason for him to be brought back next year with better options already in house.

Im surprised that the usual suspects didnt have a field day with this comment, but I kind of agree. Its understandable to drop the soap when you have a guy on 2nd with nobody out, but we had some great chances 3 innings in a row and couldnt do anything with it. If we were anywhere near contention at this point, this might go down as the most frustrating loss of the season, and thats saying alot this season.

As I said, I havnt. He just needs a day off or 2. Seems like hes been exposed, however, the sucess of a guy who come to the bigs and starts out hot doesnt depend on whether or not opposing pithchers figure him out and adjust, its if hes able to adjust to their adjustments.

The Houston and Pittsburgh portions of the year have been nausea-inducing.

I can't believe we allowed such [expletive] teams to wreck the season.

The expletive team that wrecked the season is the Cubs.

Hah! Nobody "jumped on it" because it's patently absurd.
