07/09 Cubs (lilly) at Dodgers (billingsley) 9:10PM CSN+

the cubs have killed our enthusiasm as it's 4pm and there's no game thread. I'm only posting, because i'm drooling on my keyboard, bored, waiting a few more minutes to leave the office....

We can at least root for Lilly to pitch well....we want to get as much for Lilly as possible if we decide to trade him in the coming weeks.

If the CUBS are behind after 8 innings tonight (as is usually the case) I want them to come back and win. My cursory google search verified 9 teams in the NL have won after trailing after 8 innings this year, but I didn't notice any such wins for: mets giants pirates astros dodgers marlins. And of course the CUBS.

Snoop Dogg does the "Code of Conduct" in between innings at Dodger Stadium. It's amusing to hear Snoop telling me not to swear.

Damn it, Lilly. That doesn't help your trade value.

At this point, the games are merely how 2011s draft picks will be determined and players to build trade value. As far as following the 2010 Cubs, its all about the transaction front. If they want to win a few games here and there, good for them.

Why is Fontenot starting at shortstop and not Theriot?

Perhaps to showcase his versatility for trade purposes?

Of course Lilly is lowering his trade value by the pitch....

If only wed traded him after the almost no hitter.

Yeah, I was hoping the same thing because it was obvious even at that point this team was going nowhere.

He's not an overpowering pitcher, so he's not going to be dominant every time out. I'm sure other teams realize that and still value that he has the value to, on occasion, completely take over a ballgame.
