Former Cubs pitcher Mark Prior, out of baseball after leaving the San Diego Padres organization a year ago, recently started throwing again in hopes of one more comeback.

But we hear that he recently took a line drive off of his pitching shoulder while throwing batting practice to a local team. He was shut down for three weeks although the injury is not considered serious.

STOP. I've heard that one before.

Edit: When I read that article at first glance I thought the writer was making a joke. He's not even with an MLB team anymore and he's still taking liners off his elbow. We're going to read an article in 10 years that goes "Former Major League pitcher Mark Prior was mowing his law/watching TV/dropping a deuce when a line drive went off his elbow. The oft-injured pitcher said this will only set him back a couple of weeks in his attempt to return to the majors. Said Prior: 'it hurts a little less each time it happens. The bone can no reheal itself in 3 weeks without even having to go to a doctor."

Mark Prior must have been a serial killer in a past life to be treated like this. Damn.

I know it. If I was a millionaire that occasionally played baseball I would probably just kill myself.

lol
