Noticed that Zach Cates was sent to Peoria. I'm assuming he takes Kyler's spot in the rotation there, either as a "full-load" starter or a piggyback guy. That roughly puts the rotation there as what ... Jensen, Rosario, Peralta, Concepcion, Cates? Do we still have a piggyback there, since Peralta was moved off of Concepcion? Doesn't seem like it.

 

Yeah, I see no piggybackers. The rotation, in order, is currently, Rosario, Concepcion, Jensen, Cates and Peralta.

@PeoChiefsGame: Chiefs Roster Moves: Kyler Burke promoted to Daytona, OF Taiwan Easterling to DL retroactive to 6/14. Add RHP Zach Cates (starts Monday)

 

In addition to the other moves, the DL just got a whole lot sexier.

- The Cubs cut first baseman Jair Bogaerts, the twin brother of Red Sox prospect Xander Bogaerts, according to Eddy (via Twitter). Bogaerts came to Chicago as a throw-in in the Theo Epstein compensation trade.

- Doug Padilla of ESPNChicago.com expects the Cubs to add Jorge Soler to the team's 40-man roster upon his official signing after designating Randy Wells for assignment on Wednesday. Soler has until July 1 at 11:59 p.m. to sign the deal with Chicago or he stands to lose approximately $27MM as any international deal signed after that date can only be for a maximum of $2.9MM.

Marco Hernandez and Dunston were both 2 for 4, Hernandez with a double. Rock Shoulders somehow managed to put the ball in play 4 times.

 

Trey Martin is 2 for 3 with a triple, he's now got a 1.044 OPS thru his first 25 PA. Vogelbach with another walk, and Rademacher with 2 more hits.

The Cubs released Jair Bogaerts, the twin brother of top Red Sox prospect Xander, whom they received as a throw-in in the protracted Theo Epstein transaction. Chicago received Epstein and Bogaerts, while Boston acquired righthanders Chris Carpenter (who hasn't pitched this season and is on the 60-day DL) and Aaron Kurcz (a wild, but high-strikeout, reliever in Double-A).

Cubs released RHP Mike MacDougal.

MacDougal struggled in 19 games at the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa after being cut loose by the Dodgers, posting a 7.85 ERA and 11/16 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings. He should be able to find another job.
