Once all the news came out about the incident, I think it's clear the cabbie crossed a line and I'm not all that upset that Kane and/or his cousin punched him. You can't just lock people into your cab.

 

But the first news to break is always the part that sticks in people's minds, not the details that come out later.

thats a totally different story in MPLS. the cabbies up there are famous for taking long circuitous routes (especially if they think you are from out of town) and I personally have a friend who was locked in a cab and harassed for money when she was $1-2 short on a $20 fair. cabbies suck.

My puck and hat came today, but I wasn't home so I can pick them up at the post office first thing tomorrow morning. The t-shirts are a few days behind.

amazon says the dvd comes out july 20th. the stanley ucp DVD is always abdass too. always get a lot of footage (both on ice and off ice) that you didn't see anywhere else. i have the lightning one and i just watched it again yesterday.

really? he's a frat boy douchemonster? he's an incredibly competitive and hard-working 21-year old who just achieved the pinnacle of his profession long before his physical prime. if you wouldn't party like that, then frankly, you are a waste of a human being. life is for enjoying. i probably would have made an ass of myself 10x worse, and would be 100% less apologetic.

 

and i'm with jersey on the cabby sitch. i was in atl in feb and some cabby took use waaaay out of the way because the two people sitting closest to him, myself and one of the dudes i drove down there with, were asking all these questions about atlanta n stuff, like it was actually an interesting place or something. but then the guy who we were visiting was all "wth are you doing, where are you going" and the guy got all shifty. the meter said $28, he received $19.

i don't even understand why you're getting so pissed off. i'm not even insulting kane. i'm pointing what i think is kind of obvious. my brother is like obsessed with patrick kane and even he jokes about how much of a douche he comes across as a lot of the time.

 

i think it's funny. guys like kane make sports more interesting. i don't know why you're getting so pissy about it. most athletes are just like kane. it's been about 10 years since i accepted the fact that athletes in general are seedy people a lot of the time.

i don't care at all about athletes personal lives or what they act like. i just don't see why people get all upset when people point out that kane fits the mold of what many or most athletes are like.

 

people really shouldn't be looking at athletes if they want an idol or role model.

 

if reminds me of how bill simmons always talks about how he avoids hanging out with athletes that play for any of his teams because his perception of them is completely ruined when he sees the way they act and the things they do (most specifically the married ones).
