Last time the Hawks won a road play off OT game was 1996, last time they won in Philly was 1996. Coincidence?

Hopefully everyone's favorite playoff goal is coming up.

'96 eh? Was that Krivo's goal? The one where Foley's voice cracked during his goal call?

I was 10 So I'm not sure but I think so because I think I remember them showing the highlight last year.

I think it was Krivo with that whiff shot that crawled over Roy's shoulder.

As much as I didn't want to admit it to myself, that goal was inevitable. Flyers were putting so much pressure it was bound to happen. Crap, crap, crap, however.

They're really going to have to get off their heels and overcome Philly's momentum. I can't even imagine possibly winning the Cup in OT.

I can't believe the Hawks just sat back the last 10 minutes. The Flyers had far too many chances. They better get after it to start this overtime. An overtime win would be absolutely awesome. Let's see it.

They beat the Aves at home 1997. They finished the Flames off on the road the year before (this is all based off of wikipedia)

If it happens, one of those guys in the Indianhead is about to become immortal.

Its Cup vs Survival.

What matters more? Hopefully the Cup!

Cmon Hawks, I wasn't lying over 3 hours ago, I want to be :yahoo: you winning LSC, and like ASAP please.

hawks played back in the last 10 minutes and it cost them

On that goal they had Toews forechecking and four guys across the blue line. Was just too easy for them to get the puck into the zone, which allowed for the crazy bounce they got.

Agreed. I didn't expect us to play like that but it's hard to guard against. I felt like it was only a matter of time before they tied it up in the 3rd. Just thankful Niemi was able to save the winner.

To quote a slogan from my last (and only) team to win a championship, "If it ain't rough it ain't right".

If only these things only played out like on the scripts, but it would be soooooo fitting - in many more ways than one - if it were to be Marion "I'm NOT a SC curse" Hossa sinking the GW to win it all for his Blackhawks.

I've seen my favorite teams win championships but one was the Packers when I was 10 and I wasn't that big of a fan yet (I played Mariokart during the Superbowl game) and I only watched the Bulls during the finals at the time so I really want this. Badly.

I had a feeling this morning it was going to be Kopecky who got the GWG from either Toews or Hossa (or both I guess).

Let it be Hossa. Or Toews. Or Sharp. Or Keith. Or Buff. Or Kane. Or....

Seriously I want it to be Hossa though. Not just because of the "curse" nonsense, he's just been so undervalued by the casual fan and taken unwarranted criticism.

Praying to God that 3:59 doesn't = 5 outs.

If they don't win the cup it'd be worse. That was only the semifinals.

I wonder how 12 sudden death goals between the players in a single game compares with any other sport's championship game in any year

Starting to drink at about the 10 minute mark of the third was a good choice.

What took you so long?

Work in the morning but I stopped caring when I could count my heartbeats easily.
