Is Leake really this much of a phenom that they feel he didn't need any sort of Minor League experience at all?

FWIW he had amazing college numbers, but many don't think he has the kind of stuff to be very good at the big league level. Now that I've said that I imagine he 3 hits us.

 

Yeah, his FB is normally 88-92 but it's effective because of it sink. He also throws like 30 other pitches (ok, 4 more: a cut, slider, curve and change).

 

He probably should be at AA for at least 2-3 months but I'm generally more conservative with prospects than every team in baseball.

Baseball America isn't very high on him at all, compared him to Sowers.
