LR will out live yet another manager.

I'm really hoping we'll retain both coaches (Rothschild and Jaramillo) after the season. If a new GM/coach comes in, I hope they don't clean house because it's going to be tough improving on the current hitting and pitching coaches.

I'd like them to hold onto Trammel, too, though I'm sure Sandberg will want/expect to have the bench coach to be someone who is "his guy."

Yeah, I didn't mention Trammel simply because he's likely to be a candidate for the job and I'd be a little surprised if he stayed on if he doesn't get the job. Also, bench coaches do tend to be the manager's "guy."

6-0. I keep waiting for the wheels to fall off (and they probably will eventually) but we've already "won" this trade as far as I'm concerned.

Cubs:

-Got a SP who is currently 6-0 3.52 ERA

-Received $9M from the Mariners

-The trade allowed them to sign a replacement for Bradley that is currently OPSing .874

Mariners got:

-A player who is OPSing .665, has missed two weeks, and is pretty much a headache.

I know it's early and this trade will probably seem less lopsided by season's end, but Hendry may have done his research on this one.

Holtzman's 1967 season was an interesting story. He was in the National Guard that year and only able to pitch in 12 games during weekend passes.

Yeah, but what a send off we gave him before he reported for active duty..... beating the Dodgers 20-3 !!!

We need Cubswin to make similar threads about other members of the team. It seems to have worked for Silva.

Forget all those posters who want to sell high on Silva.

I don't see the problem with selling high on him, as long as selling high on him now is much, much different from what it would have been two months ago

Show me another Cub who's struggling and reports having a breakthrough session with their coach and I will!

I'm all for seeing what the Cubs can get for him. If he can keep this going through June, they might get a taker...

It's not going to last.

That all depends on what you mean by "last"...

You had a month to come up with a clever response and that was the best you could do?

No, we had to wait 5 weeks in order for the comment to be valid. I wasn't trying to be clever.

Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

I'm having a fine day, thanks for asking. My problem with your post is that I think it's incredibly annoying to wait a month to respond to a post only to point out that someone was wrong(but in this case, he isn't technically wrong yet).
