I don't really follow HS baseball prospects like a lot of you do. Does anyone know if Bubba Starling is projected to go in the top 2 rounds of this year's draft?

Didnt show up on any PG draft list from KS.

I'm sorry, he'd be in the 2011 draft, not this year. Have you heard of this kid? Or is it too early to talk 2011 guys?

Personally, I've never heard of him. According to a 2011 draft list, he is the 3rd rated HS player in the state of KS and it's too early as far as whether or not he'll go in whichever round as he'll be a junior.

Vance, his real name is Derek.

I have heard of him, know one of the coaches that works with him. Supposedly has been told he will go in the first 5 rounds. But, he's also an amazing QB and a good basketball player. From what I've been told he might go the college route.

UK, could you tell me the names of the 2 KS high school players rated above him?

Kansas apparently has some great prep baseball player names.

Logan Watkins is from Kansas.

Starling is also a heckuva football prospect. Supposedly a 4 star dual-threat QB with offers from schools like Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ok State, Notre Dame and Alabama. He may never see the football field, but if he does he's prolly likely to head to Nebraska.

So Starling is definately a heckuva athlete.

Also a good basketball player. From what I've heard Nebraska isn't the favorite.

It doesn't really matter who's his favorite, as he will be drafted high enough in baseball to forego college.

Actually his favorites are Kansas and Alabama from what I've heard.

There's a a lot of talk he'll go to college if he's not in the top 3 rounds. He says he really wants to go to school. I think the money will talk, though.

As much as I want him to come to Bama (and CNS is open to allowing Starling to play baseball at the school, if he wishes) I don't know if he will come. He's sounded positive about Bama, but CNS already has Jackson, McCarron and Sims already at Bama and he also is recruited Lemay and few other QBs like Bridgewater and Miller. So, I honestly believe Starling will end up at a school that gives him a better chance at starting QB.

I don't think Kansas is one of his favorites. I know one of his baseball coaches and from what I heard his family was really excited about one scholly offer.

That totally contradicts everything I've read. His family is allegedly a huge KU family, and he loved Gill. Who did you hear he was psyched about?

I'm hearing rumors that Bubba Starling is close to committing to Notre Dame. Anybody else hear this?

since saying he was a big KU fan, virtually every piece of info I've gotten suggests ND. Right on target as usual, snood.

You pick and choose who you want in basketball.

bubba trimmed the list to alabama, ND, Neb, and OU.

Ouch. Kinda po'd Nebraska made it over us, but I get it.

Even tho Saban has told Starling he could play baseball at Bama, I think Bubba keeping Bama in his Top 4 is nothing more then for show.

I imagine we will be drafting Bubba in 4 years, FWIW.
