I don't even remember the Colts being picked to win that SB by the end of the two-week lead up to the game. It seemed to me that a majority of 'experts and analysts' had convinced themselves that dome-team Indy couldn't beat the all-weather Bears outside in a torrential rainstorm. Indy also faced a hostile crowd at the damn game. I think that's the only time I've ever seen a SB team get booed taking the field on neutral ground.

You must be a Colts fan or something, because I don't recall ever thinking the Bears would win, nor do I remember hearing anyone pick the Bears.

There weren't that many people picking the Bears. The Manning/Grossman "matchup" put a dent in most of those arguments.

It's just ESPN, but...

6 picks for the Bears

14 picks for the Colts

The Colts didn't destroy the Bears in points, but after the 1Q the game was firmly in the Colts control the rest of the way. Grossman got worse as the game went on and Indy's D was far and away better than the Bears. I think some Bears fans definitely watched a different SB than the rest of the world.

I'm sure the media will have the Saints winning this in a blowout by the end of next week. I'm just waiting to see the reasons this time. They can't use the Dome-team excuse. Maybe it'll be the humidity.

It's just the Colts against the world.

The Colts were 8 point favorites iirc. The only people that were picking the Bears were people that were doing so they could sound smart after a possible upset.

It seemed like the Colts had the ball the entire second half and converted every 3rd down.
