I just don't understand why anyone would take any kicker over Gould. He has his issues but until he fails in a clutch game like this I consider him above all. Yeah he misses the kick in the Vikings game but he's made literally every other GW attempt in his career and there have been a good number of them. Maybe there are slightly better kickers but not enough to even question dropping Robbie.

because gould forces you to punt on your opponents' side of the field and rarely gets touchbacks.

I was so worried Rivers and Favre would both end up in the Super Bowl. I probably would have cut myself.

You have the opportunity to punch Brady, Rivers, or Favre in the face repeatedly...who do you choose?

You are a violent, violent man.

I'm a humanitarian. Now who would you choose?

I'd go Rivers or Favre. Brady's obnoxiousness seems to mostly be media created and he doesn't feed into it as much as he could. Rivers and Favre are annoying in San Diego and Minnesota. I'd imagine Brady would be less annoying if he weren't in Boston.

Favre. Not even a second thought.

I hope SD gets the ball back just so Kaeding gets another chance to shank a FG.

I'm pretty sure the reason most people don't consider him the best is his lack of success from 50+, but he was 2/3 from 50+ this year and has still only attempted five kicks from 50 or beyond in his career. He has been successful in the clutch and his ridiculous 37-37 from 20-29 yards and 53-57 from 30-39 yards in his career is as accurate as you can get from inside 40 yards.

I would give just about anything to see SD get the ball back, drive down the field, and have Kaeding miss another one.

That'd be cool. But I'd also like to see Rivers throw another interception and then get punched in the penis.

Good lord, man.

Should have called the timeout before the two minute warning. It's not a whole lot but it would probably save them a few seconds.

meh. Until someone shows me how many times the 5 yards that Gould can't convert from that some other kickers can and then factors in the fact that it's like 50-50 for even good kickers beyond 50, then I don't think that hurts us very much.

The lack of touchbacks is valid but I'll take it as a tradeoff for having the second most accurate kicker in NFL history or whatever the stat is.

At least until he has a year that he falls apart and can't kick crap which it seems like all kickers do. Then I'll give up on him.
