Who could have seen this coming? It's not like Philly went from a bye team to a wild card team by being blown out against this same cowboys team last week.

it's a terrible matchup for the eagles, jason peters is as mobile as a filing cabinet, which is bad against ware, sean mcdermott is a worse defensive coordinator than dead jim johnson, and the eagles fattened up against bad team. the only good teams the eagles played this year they lost to; they lost at home to dallas and got blown out at home by the saints and on the road versus the cowboys. they're an average team who won lots of games against average and bad teams but don't have the talent or the coaching to beat good teams. pretty easy call.

 

And they lost to the Raiders.

 

Come to think of it, that's what should have convinced me to pick the Jets rather than the Bengals - Cincinnati lost to the Raiders also.

I think basing picks on who lost to the Raiders is a bad idea. The Raiders a) weren't terrible and B) played much better against non-terrible teams.

like it matters. the cowboys are much better than the eagles and even if the eagles had somehow managed to get the bye, they're clearly not good enough to win a super bowl. so who really cares how much they're losing by or even whether they lost? the goal is to win the super bowl or at least a conference title and that's only something that happens for good teams.
