I'm not exactly sure why we are arguing. We both agree that it is possible that a player can have a negative effect on team chemistry, and that team chemistry may some effect on a teams W/L record.

You really didn't get the point of that, did you?

I'm saying it's possible.

You're saying it's true... and not only did it have an effect, but it was a significant one. And you make this proclamation without any sort of proof.

That's the crux of the argument. This isn't Cubs.com. Your opinions here have to be backed up with proof, and you have none.

Bradley's negative effect on chemistry caused him to be suspended for the last however-long-it-was of the season. Can we agree that having Sam Fuld and Bobby Scales in the lineup every day hurt our eventual record?

He's free to offer his opinions on here. Its just that he's going to get called out on it if he can't show any sort of evidence that poor chemistry has a measurable impact on team performance. The key word in there is measurable, of course.

Chalk me up as a committed believer that winning & losing impacts chemistry one heck of a lot more than chemistry impacts winning, btw. But given the lack of ability to measure chemistry or the impact it has on the game, I'm not going to say whether that is an absolute or not.

what is extremely dishonest is just looking at stats as a reason to justify a person being on the team. stats help but stats should not be the determining factor. anyone else want to guess why barry bonds has not been on an active major league roster the last couple of seasons?

Because he's been blackballed by the commissioner due to steroids.

Manny Ramirez

Gary Sheffield

Alex Rodriguez

ect...

All still can find a job in MLB.

None of them broke Bud Selig's hero's record. None of them are as hated by the casual fan either.

You think the Giants suffered by having Barry [expletive] Bonds on their teams?
