don't worry because once the playoff start, it makes no difference if we've been playing like ass for 3 months... or something like that

Streaks last forever. True story. Teams never, ever change how they are playing. I'm not sure how this team went from playing awesome to awful, but that's the only time it will ever happen in the entire existence of sports.

31 games isn't really a small sample size. They've been below average ever since a hot start.

This Blackhawks team has potential to be more depressing then the 2008 Cubs.

No, not even close. We knew all along that the most important position on ice was a gigantic weak link. The 08 Cubs showed for the entire season that they were the best in the NL with no weakness as great as the Hawks weakness in net.

keith is a mess

versteeg isn't even trying anymore

obviously there is more blame to go around, but those are some of the things that stand out to me most right now

Agreed. So why not consider both the hot start and the cold finish. Why only the cold finish?

it's no worse than you just completely shrugging off the past 31 games and basically saying "well once the playoff start teams often play differently" as a crutch.

this team has been league average for almost half the season. why should we believe thats going to turn around once the playoffs start?

and also, we had campbell for that good first half.

Maybe the 2004 Cubs is a better comparison.

I'm not saying it's for sure going to turn around. I'm saying it might.

Because "almost half the season" isn't the entire sample we have on this team. We have an entire season that says they are capable of both ends of the spectrum.

at least the hawks had the courtesy to lower our expectations before the postseason started and are letting us know what to expect.

the 2008 cubs waited until the postseason to blindside us

no, you constantly imply that this 30 game stretch doesn't mean much, when it absolutely does.

No, you consistently imply that this 30-game stretch is the only thing that means anything, and I keep telling you that you are wrong.

The Cubs showed potential in September.

Either way, sports are getting on my last nerve.

when a team has been the same for 30+ games, i tend to believe that they're highly likely to stay that way when their problems are as real as the hawks are. i don't see why there's any reason to believe that there's a good chance it will turn around when the playoffs start and we're facing even tougher competetion.

the thing is, this team has very real problems. it's not like they're just slumping and people can't figure out why. our defense is ass without campbell and our goaltending is comical.

crappy defense and horrible goaltending makes it close to impossible to win a stanley cup... unless you score like the caps. and we don't.

For awhile the team was getting out to decent leads and collapsing late. I still had hope they'd get things figured out because they were outplaying the other team for most of the game. Now they are getting beat down by bad teams.

I'm still hopeful though. They have a couple of games to figure it out and all it takes is a playoff win or two to regain confidence and get a hot streak going. I'm still hopeful for that.

I believe that this belief is nothing more than superstition, a second-cousin to the people who believe that a guy who hits .310 with runners in scoring position has a special ability to do so. Why didn't the UberHawks of the first-half of the season stay that way, when they played that way for 30+ games?

Both the defense and the goaltending have proven they are capable of excellence over a stretch as long as the playoffs. And they've proven it this season.

Boy the Hawks sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

Anyone get tickets? I got 2 tickets to Games 2 and 3 of the first round. If they get to the second round, I didn't bother. I don't have enough liquidity right now to spend another $150 to see if they actually make it. If they were still dominating I would but... Put it this way, if they get to the second round that means they got their crap together and can probably make it to the conference finals. In that case, I'll get Conference finals tickets when they go on sale.

I got 4 to game 5 of the first round, so did my brother.

I also just pulled up one on the glass for game 5 of round 2 ($460) Anyone want it?

Edit home game 3 is series game 5.

Well my brother's order got canceled, very upsetting.

As it stands I have 4 in section 306, row 6 to home game 3 of the Conference Quarters (1st round).

I am looking to get my hands on a total of 8 tickets to any game of round 1, would love to trade these for SRO or something, to obtain a greater quantity, less quality. If you have anything you think might work, please let me know.

I was able to get:

Round 1 - 2 SRO to Game 1

Round 2 - 2 SRO to Game 5

Round 2 - 4 SRO to Game 7

Anyone know the difference between STAND2 vs. STAND3? It looks like there are different tiers perhaps? I've never seen anything like this enforced though.

I've had SRO to at least 6 or 7 times (split between the Bulls and Hawks) and have never seen anything like that.
