Perhaps no surprise, but Q basically said today that the #1 job belongs to Niemi for now.

So the Hawks are still practicing during this break? I really hadn't found much to read about them over the last 2 weeks. I thought they all went off and had a vacation, or maybe had a week off and are not practicing to stay sharp for next Tuesday (only 5 more days until Blackhawks hockey!)

Practice started today.

I heard them mention that during the Canada Germany game the other day. Emrick pointed out that the team Germany players wouldn't have to report for 2 days or something like that.

I'm sure that is the case for any Olympic players, but the rest of the Hawks (not the 6 playing today obviously) practiced yesterday and this morning. The will also practice tomorrow and Sunday.

He played for the Hawks between 2005-06 to 2007-08.

I think this trade means that Crawford is on the way out in some kind of trade and Richmond...........idk.

Headed to the came on Wednesday, curious about the reactions. On top of the first game back, it is also Toews bobblehead night.

Put a small gold medal around its neck.

doesn't make sense for the leafs anyway. actually, it doesn't make sense for anyone to take on huet.

Depends on what kind of draft pick they get. Toronto is pathetic, and a mess in goal. If they can trade bad contract for bad contract, stabilize goalie in the short term and gain a decent pick, it makes perfect sense. Huet is decent and not grossly overpaid.

for a second goalie he's overpaid, as he's not supplanting giguere.

Hawks picked up Boynton today for "future considerations." If we were getting an Anaheim defenseman, it could have been Wiz. He is being assigned to Rockford. Seems to me he is a piece they can use next year when Sopel (thank god) is gone.

I dont think Anaheim is going to be a seller, they have gotten themselves in the playoff picture.
