Crappy way to end the period. I'm not worried really bc it's Carolina but they need to play better. Carolina looked like the better team the first half of the period and that's not good. The Hawks were pushing the puck up the ice too much early on trying to start fast breaks and it didn't lead to a lot of chances. I think the Hawks thought they could outskate the Caines and pick up quick scores and it hasn't worked out so far.

i always worry about these types of games. just came off an intense and antipated matchup, last game of the trip, etc. it's easy to have a letdown in trap games like these.

Right now the Hawks are playing like the sharks did at the start of the 3rd period when everyone knew it was a matter of when they scored to tie it up.
