That's the thing. Part of the Hawks offense is to throw it on the net and try to convert rebounds. They don't always stress waiting for a great look to shoot. So the Hawks will rack up a bunch of shots but not all of them are solid SOG, so games like this will happen occasionally.

and it's not as unheard of as youre making it out to be. a lot of the blackhawks shots tonight were pucks that had no chance of going in.

the devils lost to the lightning tonight and they're worse than the ducks. EVERY team loses to teams that are significantly worse than them a number of times over the course of 82 games. it happens all the time.

 

so neither of your crazy arguments are true. would you like to make a 3rd argument that's incorrect and irrational?

wrong again. over his last 11 starts (BEFORE tonight), he had a save percentage of over .930 and a GAA of right around 2. he's been lights out

but seriously, my arguments are pretty much 1. losing to a team like the ducks shouldn't happen so often as it does to us. and 2. outshooting your opponents by 30 and losing shouldn't happen so often as it does to us. 3. these things should never converge, either.

btw, i could punch bcl412 for posting this before last night's game.

 

Random fact. The Blackhawks haven't lost consecutive games since November 27 and 28. They haven't gone two straight games without receiving a point since the middle of October and the most games they've lost in a row all year has been 2. They are pretty good.

 

granted, we still got a point out of these 2 games, but if we lose another one, i'll have some choice words for him.

Technically they lost to the Lightning Friday, they just completed it tonight.

Yep. I've noticed when they're playing better they have more traffic in front and the shots are more often quality ones. Sometimes they go into "3 point mode" -- for lack of a better term -- they'll rack up shots but they percentages are lower.

 

I still think the huge loss the night before was a factor.

Just to make a point about Anahiem. At this point last season they were about 10 points out of the playoff picture and looked terrible. They made some tweeks at the deadline, finished strong and were the 2nd best team in the Western Conference last year in the playoffs. I would be careful to say things like they are not as talented as teh Kings or that they suck. They are not a puck possession type team, so they will routinely be outshot and sometimes by plenty. They however are a very dangerous team that if I was a Blackhawk fan I would be praying they dont make the playoffs as an 8th seed.
