Bradley is dead on about that, regardless of what else he says

 

I have been a Bradley supporter from day 1 and he is even starting to wear on me now. He does not play harder than "anybody" on the field. That is an insult to the other guys out there and Lee, Ramirez, Theriot and Fukudome off the top of my head play just as hard or harder.

 

All this "now I know why they haven't won for 100 years" stuff is him trying to act like none of it is his fault. I agree that some of the media were complete pricks and I think wanted him to fail so they could write about how awful he is. Unfortunately that's how a lot of big market media writers operate and he has to learn to deal with it.

Agreed. Hendry needs to be the fall guy on this one. It's always somebody else's fault with Bradley. It's not 1 or 2 instances, its EVERY SINGLE TEAM he's ever been on. Hell, even last year, HE CHARGED THE FREAKING TV BOOTH to fight an announcer. What a piece of crap human being.

i don't even see the point of being a cubs fan, or a sports fan in general, if all you do is complain about your team. yeah the cubs lost and were pathetic in the playoffs in 2007 and 2008, but considering that they made the playoffs a grand total of four times from 1946 to 2006, i'm going to actually be happy that they made it two years in a row. it's a hell of a lot more interesting than this season, when they pretty much have been playing out the string since late august, and it sure as hell is better than 2006, when the season was done in june. (granted the season was done to some people in april of 2007, but we already discussed that)

 

you want a team that is going to win the world series? give up on the cubs. they probably won't ever win it. go root for the yankees or red sox or cardinals or whatever. i would think that someone who has been a cub fan for a long time, as mr. horse claims, would have gained a greater appreciation for teams that are competitive through august and september, having sat through decades of relative incompetence. instead you bitch about three games at the end of each season. i know they say misery loves company, but frankly we'd just prefer if you leave us alone.

 

Good explanation.......the problem being those "three games at the end of the season" seem to be the roadblock to winning that elusive World Series. When the World Series is the goal, which I would hope it would be for the Cubs and their fanbase, and 101 years in they still haven't won one, I'm not sure why being "competitive through August and September" should appease a Cub fan. Why would a Cub fan point to that as a badge of honor?

 

I would counter your argument by saying why would you call out any Cub fan who is actually critical of his team because of the lack of postseason success?

And soccer10k....The Raiders won a Super Bowl in 83 I believe. A Cub fan would kill for a title in 83.
