I don't believe I've ever seen a baseball player as bad as Miles, and yes I was a fan in 2006.

I would gladly take Neifi or Macias over Miles.

Dave Rosello was pretty bad,but much, much better than Miles.

So if we let Harden go to Minnesota for a sack of whatever, than we have a very 2006esque pitching staff next year. Dont do it Jim.

It's not like Harden's under contract for next year...or has pitched more than 150 innings since 2004.

I'm of the opinion that letting Harden go would be a mistake. He's a legit ace.

I disagree. In addition to having great stuff, a true ace has to be a reliable innings-eater. Harden has the stuff, but his injury history makes him far from reliable.

Agreed on this point. I like Harden. When he's healthy and pitching to his potential, he's one of the best pitchers in baseball. The problem is, he just can't stay healthy for extended stretches.

I'd love to have him back next year, but I would never offer him more than 2 years.

If there was a replacement, maybe, but even looking at the 2010 free agent class for starting pitchers. Theres John lackey who leads the pack, and behind him, theres Eric bedard whose been as healthy as Harden throughout his career. I dont want a rotation of Z/Lilly/Dempster/Wells/Gorzalanny.

Win a series, lose ground in your division; that's just the way it's been this season.

5th in the wild card, need some sweeps

Skipping back and forth with the cardinals game I can see why their pitchers numbers are so amazing. Willie Harris just K'd on a curveball that wasn't even close to being a strike. McClellan threw it, do all their pitchers get that much?
