7/28 Other Games

I felt the Dodgers were as overrated as any team could be. They got off to a hot streak maning to keep the momentum going during ManRam absense, and to me they haven't "put it together" since his return. So again, the Dodgers team was overrated because of their hot start.

They better bend over like this when they play the Cubs.

It never works that way. They'll do the exact opposite and fire on all cylinders to turn in their best-played games of the year on every front.

The Dodgers can go suck it.

Get a couple guys out there like Wainwight and Carpenter and they probably will.

When you have 14 straight innings of having a runner on base like the Dodgers did, Im not sure you can really talk up Wainwright and Carpenter. They both got extremely lucky.

You are overrating having men on base, as if it automatically means runs will/should score. How many innings did they have a runner on base due to a 2 out single? How often did they have runners in scoring positions? How many times did the lead off man get on? (supposedly this leads to a run more so than getting on with outs already recorded.) Havings runners on base doesnt mean they'll the plate, especially when going against two pitchers who havent been giving up runs. Besides even if they would have capitalized on having men on base its more than likely they would have lost these two games anyway by getting out scored.

Men got on base. Pitchers can't really control what order they give up baserunners. Pitchers who spread out their hits over several innings are typically lucky. He was hittable all night and got away with it.

Thats fine. The Cardinals arent going to no-hit teams that often.

Wasnt my point, but this is a true statement I guess.

Says who? Sounds like a perception rather than a fact, but I'd listen to evidence.

He was hittable all night and got away with it.

He gave up a hit an inning. His last 73 innings he's given up 73 hits. I guess he's going to "get away with it" all season.

He doesn't have an ERA of 0.00 in those 73 innings, which is what his ERA was today.

Im starting to wonder if the Brewers are really that much better than the Nationals. The Brewers have a legit ace and closer, but other than that, the pitching isnt much better. They have similar lineups, with Braun/Fielder and Zimmerman/Dunn as similar 3-4 punches(only Zim and Dunn dont do that intolerable punching routine). The Nats have a legit leadoff hitter which the Brewers dont, and Guzman, Willingham, and Johnson are just as good a supporting cast as Hardy, Hart, and Cameron.
