by the way, isn't buehrle a great example of how much luck is involved in throwing a perfect game or no hitter? the guy has given up more than a hit per inning in his career. that he has thrown two no-hitters, including a perfect game, in his career is pretty fortunate.

He's always been rather streaky though. When he's good he can be unhittable at times. When he's bad, he's awful.

That stat really surprised me. It seems like everytime I look up, he's doing something like this. He's the only dude in MLB history that has pitched 3 games facing the minimum. He's the only dude in MLB history that lost a game while not having any baserunners (2-hitter in Toronto with both hits being HR's). Hell, the only White Sox game I went to this year, Buehrle took a no-hitter into the 7th.

I just can't believe how fortunate his career has been.

-One no hitter

-One perfect game

-Faced the minimum three times in his career

-Recorded a save in the World Series

-Complete game in the ALCS

-Started and recorded a win in the All Star Game

-Hit a home run in interleague play

Agreed.

At times, he can have three plus pitches and w/real good command with all 3 of his cutter, curve, and change. It's when the change-up is not working that he tends to get hit hard b/c for RH'ed batters everything plays off that change.

It's pretty nice to see a day where the sports world focuses on Chicago, anyway.

It was a fantastic performance. Good for him.

Ok, I'm already sick of hearing about this.

Agreed.

I'd much rather have ESPN talk about Romo breaking up with Jessica Simpson and Terrell Owens' new reality show.

What do you expect to happen? This isn't like a no-hitter, which happen a couple times per year. There have only been 16 in the modern era, which is one every six or seven years.

I didn't say that I was surprised by it. I can be sick of something that I fully expect.
