Duncan was just optioned to Memphis. There were some rumblings about it late last night, but I don't think there is anything to it.

I've heard that too, but it's just message board drama. Chris Duncan is the most hated player in STL with TLR a close 2nd. I would highly doubt that there is any truth to it.

Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that the Cardinals will trade Chris Duncan to the Red Sox for Julio Lugo.

 

The deal was first reported by Viva El Birdos.

Not a horrible deal for the Cards as long as they dont have send any cash to the Sawx. So does this spell the end for Khalil Greene and his anxiety disorder in St. Louis? I thought Ankiel was the most hated.

Not even close. He'll never even get booed. He's "such a great story" and "such a tremendous athlete" and "looks like a ballplayer."

 

Ankiel is my least favorite Cardinal though. I dislike him more than I disliked Duncan.

disagree. laroche has a career line of .296/.357/.544/.901 after the ASB and .275/.347/.500/.847 against RHP. ortiz is an injury risk and has been bad most of the year, lowell can't play more than a few games in a row and is another big injury risk. laroche gives them a good bat at 1B/DH and insurance should lowell/ortiz get hurt or ortiz continue to be terrible.
