Here's a question; say we score ten runs here. Is it still a save situation for Gregg?

Yep. It was a save situation when he entered the game so if he finishes it he gets the save.

I think this would still be a save situation for gregg, regardless of how many runs score. Can anyone confirm?

A save is a statistic credited to a relief pitcher, as set forth in Rule 10.19 of the Rules of Baseball. That rule states the official scorer shall credit a pitcher with a save when such pitcher meets all four of the following conditions[2]:

He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team

He is not the winning pitcher

He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched

He satisfies one of the following conditions:

He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning

He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck

He pitches for at least three innings

Per wikipedia I believe he would get the save

Fukudome has been hitting the ball HARD recently

Agreed, he's having an underrated season as a whole I think. Albeit he is overpayed, but far from a disappointment. Hopefully with his hitting coach from Japan here, he can keep up the good work

So, I start teaching and the Cubs look like an anemic offense. I check my iPod right afterward and they've scored 8 runs.

That was a nice feeling. It would have been nice to actually see it with my own eyes, but I'll take it.
