How the Nationals have managed to win 26 games is nothing short of a miracle.

They've blown like 19 (literally) save chances this year, too.

I didnt even know they had Alfonseca

Alfonseca was Mariano Rivera next to Mel Rojas.

Nationals have a 41% SV% (Save Percentage). That's just awful. The next team is Cleveland, an entire 12 points higher at 53%. Edited by DiamondMind

What's going on? I was following online but I think Soriano taking a walk killed gameday.

Why is our left fielder warming up in the bullpen? :D

I didn't get to see that, what exactly happened?

Sunday night against the Cardinals with the bases loaded, Marshall was pitching but a righty came up against him with two or three lefties to follow. So Lou, not wanting to pull his only lefty, took Soriano out of the game, put Marshall in left and let Heilman pitch to the one hitter (think it was somebody pinch hitting for Schumaker).

Then Marshall came back in to pitch to the final two lefties and Reed came in to play left.

Actually, it was a righty due up, then Schumaker I think, but Schumaker was PH for with a righty, so Marshall only ended up facing 1 more lefty but got both hitters out anyway.

You're right. I was going completely off memory and mine's not good.

I'm casually looking through stats after checking the Nats' save percentage...

did you guys know we lead baseball with 55 quality starts from our starters? man, we'd actually be pretty damn good this year if we weren't completely inept offensively. wait, I think we already knew that.

Soriano walked, Fuld singled with the hit and run on and Sori moved to third.

With runners on the corners, Hill singled to right to score Sori and move Fuld to third. Runners are now on the corners with Fox up and Sean Burnett pitching.

Fox hit a squibber right in front of the plate. Burnett bobbles it and Fuld scores.

Runners on first and second. Reed up, none out.

So nobody was out on that play? Gameday has nobody scoring and an out being made.
