I bet Derrek Lee would have had a better AB than Howard there.

Oh well, with Rivera coming up it looks like the AL wins again. Game 1 of the World Series won't be at Wrigley. Probably wasn't going to anyways but still.

Random boos from the crowd. Lilly must be warming up.

No, it's Fuentes.

He of the free agent snub.

At least we don't throw our 65 Year veteran equipment managers out the front door.

At least we know that there was no Cubs who contributed to this loss.

I mean seriously, does the NL players have NO PRIDE whatsoever?

That was a rather boring and uneventful all-star game. Maybe I'm biased because no Cubs played. Although its worth it considering all of our players will now be completely rested on Thursday.

The AL has won the ASG since the inception of "it counts" yet the AL hasn't dominated the World Series. So just because the ASG "counts", it doesn't really matter when the World Series starts.

Carl Crawford is the MVP? Huh? I mean that was a great play to prevent the Home Run, but I don't think I've ever seen a position player named the MVP when he made no significant offensive contributions.

Yup, expect Lilly to take the hill for the Cubs Thursday.

I would assume that we'd see Lilly, Zambrano, Wells, Harden in the Nationals series in that order.

I just can't believe the AL keeps winning. And the weird thing is, pretty much all of the recent games have been close.

Hopefully this is the last year of the stupid home field advantage rule. It was supposed to increase fan interest in the allstar game, I guess. All its really done is take me from not caring about the all star game, to hating it with a passion.

I don't see it going away. That would mean Selig would have to own up to a mistake, and he just doesn't do that. Ever.

You hated last year's game with a passion?

Angels, A's, Pirates and Cubs were the teams without any game action.

The last time a Cubs player did not appear in the All Star game was 1998 when Sammy Sosa, the only Cubs selection, was replaced due to injury. The last time a Cubs player did not appear in the All Star game and was available to play in it was 1982 when Leon Durham, the Cubs only selection, did not appear in the game.

And if Ted Really cares about being left out of the game, he can take it out on Charlie Manuels team next week.

-Game being held in St. Louis

-Barack Obama throwing out the first pitch

-Barack Obama wearing a White Sox jacket

-Having to root for Pujols, Molina, Braun, and Fielder

-No Cub appearances

-The "best fans in baseball" booing Lilly and cheering Marquis

-Mariano Rivera getting the save

Yeah, that basically couldn't have gone any worse.

I loved Lilly's grin when he lifted his cap though. You could see him thinking "idiots".

Well, the "best fans in baseball" also looked like red-necked idiots when they heartily booed the President.

They must've thought Lilly was black.
