They are the Diamondbacks AA affiliate. I will be taking care of their videography. They have a computer system set up where I'll log every pitch so it can be easily accessed by the coaches and players in the future for reference. It's pretty awesome. I sit out in CF and track the plays. It's a pretty archaic looking piece of software, but the expansiveness of it is pretty detailed. Basically whenever I log a pitch, it logs it for that at bat, and when that at bat is over and it's all transfered and nice, coaches can open up the software go to the at bat, click on the pitch in the count and a video will pop up of that pitch. It's pretty cool.

Also, I got to watch them play the Lookouts tonight. Jarrod Parker vs. Andrew Lambo... was rather uneventful. Parker looked sharp to begin the game, 4 K's in 2IP, but only ended up with 5 total through 6 IP or so. Lambo didn't do much, think he got a single and that's it.

But yeah, that's my job now. It doesn't pay a whole lot, but I don't really care, I've been wanting this type of job for years now (baseball videographer). Didn't even know it existed until a few weeks ago, luckily I knew a guy who knew the President of the Bay Bears.

And since it's minor league ball, I also havwe to do lots of grunt work along with everyone else. I spent the postgame picking up fireworks debris from the outfield. Glamorous! It's all good though, I really dig it. Also, there's like 6 or 7 Cubs fans in the front office. They were jokingly upset when I told them I was a Cubs fan, said they should start screening and not hiring people if they are Cubs fans, lol.

Just wanted to share. I'm pumped

Awesome. I'm like you, even if the pay is crap, i'd still love working with baseball in some fashion. There's always a very, very small chance that they keep promoting you (or you just meet the right people) and work your way up the ladder a bit. Nice.

Seriously, congratulations. It would be fun to work in baseball, even with the wrong organization.

very nice!....glad you were able to get into the baseball industry. you would have been bored as hell taking a client services job with my company...all that was open at the time though man.

So...do you have access to any free tickets? If so, i might just have something from oskar blues sitting at the house with your name on it.

Haha, no I don't have that kind of clout. Even if I did I wouldn't know how to go about getting it. Since no one really shows up to the games that much they need to make as much money as possible so asking for free tickets is kind of out of the question. But tickets are cheap, they start at $7. And on Thursday home games it's Thirsty Thursday where they have $1 beers and hot dogs I think.

Will you travel with the team or just work home games?

Home games only.

LOL, thanks. I'm having a lot of fun so far. Hopefully it lasts. It's been tiring work so far. Came in at 9 yesterday, left at 11:00. That's the way it goeso n game days though. Doesn't bother me any. I'm digging it
