Then you have other first time all stars

And I know I'm missing a few others. What an odd All-Star team this year.

Marmol was added last year because Wood was unable to pitch and Marmol had the next highest vote total on the player ballot.

Per the same article, when Soriano officially deemed himself unable to play, Matt Holiday (already on the NL roster) took his spot in the starting lineup and David Wright took Soriano's roster spot as manager Clint Hurdle's choice.
