ITI had a premium story on Andrew Cashner and he's rather bullish about his newly developing changeup. He said his slider hasn't been as great this season and in his last outing, he got by with just the FB and CH.

That's the type of stuff that makes me hope he can keep starting.

Beliveau starting. Shafer tomorrow. (it was in our website recap from last night but the good folks at Kane County didnt feel like updating it on the MWL page as the home team is obligated to do).

Is Castro hurt? Don't seem him in the lineup again for Daytona.

He had a little slump going (2-19 the past 5 games) so I'd assume it's related to that. He pinch hit last night, so if he is hurt, it's probably not too bad.

Guz pitched 1.1 with 1 hit, 1 BB and 1 K. No runs.

I've heard a rehabbing Hamilton nearly took out Guz with a comebacker during the game.

Jackson with another hit and a walk for the AZL Cubs. He also K'd twice, which gives him 4 in 11 ABs at the rookie league level (to 3 BB).

Blair Springfield got his first two professional hits, one of them being a triple.

Apparently the Cubs signed Casey Fossum to a minor league deal.

The Cubs signed veteran pitcher Casey Fossum to a minor-league deal. He'll play at Class AAA Iowa. Fossum is 40-53 with a 5.45 ERA in parts of nine big-league seasons. He pitched briefly for the Mets this year.
