Can we at least wait for awhile before declaring Fuld a viable major league option? It's 2 games.

Im just saying ride the hot hand. Nothing more.

I just wish that rathe than sending someone down theyd try to shop these guys around for a reliever which is what we really need. I cant take Heilman or Patton anymore.

We're not getting much better than Heilman if we trade a 29-year-old whose only real benefit is his power. He's worth more if we keep him.

Hoff is a bench guy. He'll probably get another 5-7 years out of it. Hes not the 1st baseman of the future, as he'll be 31 years old by the time Lees gone, assuming Lee remains through the duration of his contract. Even if we can get a reliever from an AL team that the NL hasnt seen much of, id take it. Even if we get like a Russ Springer, Id take it. Fox and Hoff on the same team is like Daryl Ward and Cliff Floyd again. If we can get more for Fox, then try to shop him. In a perfect world, Jake Fox could be the backup catcher, but thats not going to happen.

Our bench should look like

Power/backup 1B/5th outfielder-Fox/Hoff

4th outfielder-Fuld/Reed

backup SS-Blanco

utility-Baker/Miles

catcher-Hill

I suppose we could also just send someone down until September. I guess the frustrating part is, especially when Guz comesd back, if Lou were willing to accept that Marshall is more than a loogy we could have a very solid pen, but no, gotta have Heilman or Patton face those righties.

You're right, Hoff is a bench guy. That's why he won't provide much value in a trade. I'd rather have him available as a power bat off the bench than trade him for a mediocre veteran reliever. Teams don't value 29-year-old bench players who only slug highly enough to give us a significant upgrade in the pen.

Cubs are now 3-0 since Lou got tossed. Coincidence? I think not.

Sam Fuld + ejection = fiery spark

You're all fools.

It's clearly the hat.

perhaps Sam Fuld is wearing the hat Lou kicked.....

Don't be ridiculous.

Sam Fuld can only wear clothes crafted from the blankets that protected him inside of the rocket that carried him to Earth.

Seriously, Sam Fuld is what a leadoff hitter is suposed to be. Maybe we can try and move the albatross to 2nd base, or at least give it a try?

Who would have thought that Sam Fuld, Jake Fox, and Randy Wells would be 3 of our most exciting players when Hendry was busy handing out masive contracts the past 3 years.

the albatross? o i c.
