The other womens semi...not so good. Venus Williams mopped the floor with Dinara Safina 6-1,6-0.

I don't know why, but it seems like Grand Slam finals between the two of them are always very dull.

Roddick manages to finish off the match, finally, setting up semifinals of Roddick-Murray and Haas-Federer.

guaranteed american in the finals. i need to see andy roddick win a wimbledon championship.

Huh? You are guaranteeing Roddick wins?

no, i'm [expletive]. never mind.

This Serena Williams-Elena Dementieva semi is very entertaining. Third set, Williams just broke Dementieva at 6-6, now serving for the match.

dementieva should have won the match, she made some really terrible mistakes and got some bad breaks, but i thought she totally outclassed serena, who survived through the first 2 1/2 sets simply on her serve. the last few games, though, she started doing what she need to do, hitting the ball real hard. but she was lucky to get through to the third.

federer through. he just doesn't make mistakes and there's no one who can put enough pressure on him to force him to make them except nadal.

haas played him about as well as you can, but you have to be absolutely perfect. one mistake and you're broken and then the match is over.

NBC should not be allowed to ever broadcast any sports, now we can't watch the semi's of a major. Is anyone getting the match?

i am. i mean, if you mean last year's final that is.

yep, while nbc continues to show regular programming.

Roddick was up 1, maybe 2 breaks in the 3rd to go up 2 sets to 1, but Murray has since broke back and is now 6-6. This isn't a set Roddick can afford to lose being up like that.

Roddick takes the 3rd 9-7 in the tiebreaker. I am so glad I am not watching this on tv ](*,) .

This is playing out perfectly for Federer. He either gets to play Roddick, or Murray after a 5 set match.

Roddick takes the 4th set in a tiebreaker at 7-5, and wins the match.

Would be nice to see Roddick at least take a set on Sunday.

NBC is finally showing tennis now...from the start of the match.

It's ridiculous. They've been doing this the whole tournament.

I just can't see how Roddick has much of a chance on Sunday.

Federer is ridiculous right now, especially with his serve. He's been broken three times in the tournament but none in the last three matches. In the last two matches, Haas and Karlovic, Federer didn't even face a break point and against Karlovic, Federer didn't even see a deuce on his serve until the third set, and even then it was only one. He's won 105 of 115 (91.3 percent) of points on his first serve and 41 of 53 (77.4) on his second serve.

So pretty much you're left hoping for a tiebreaker, and even then he's serving well enough that if you drop one point on your serve, that's probably it.

Roddick might get a set at 7-6 on Sunday, but I'm expecting a three-set beatdown.

Congrats to Roddick for making it this far, since I didn't think he'd beat Murray.

i told you that an american was guaranteed to be in the finals.

i stand by prediction that roddick will beat federer in the finals. i'm not sure how he's going to do it, though.

With a little help from her.

Having watched the match now Roddick did play very very well. He does have a much better chance to win than I had assumed, though I would move him to maybe a 20% chance to win from the 5% I was thinking before.

Tomorrow's match is going to be emotional. If Roddick wins he is going to cry like a little baby (which will be great), if Federer win's he breaks the record (maybe in front of Sampras) at his mecca. I'm pulling for Roddick, but I just hope the match goes 5 sets. I'm a little drunk right now, but am looking forward to 8am to watch the match.

1) Roddick is going to have to serve really well. He's got to hit the first one hard and accurate, get in a high percentage and get a lot of aces.

2) This goes along with No. 1 but Roddick has to end points quickly. If he starts getting into longer rallies repeatedly, Federer is going to eat him alive.

3) Roddick has to get lucky. If Federer plays his best, it won't matter what Roddick does because Federer will win. Nadal's the only guy who can compete with Federer at his best. Roddick has to play his best, because if he doesn't he has no chance, and hope Federer is a bit off.

I know Roddick is playing well, but Federer seems like he's on a mission. He's crushing players right now and isn't even leaving himself open to be broken on his serve. I'd probably give Roddick about a 10% chance to win and it's going to have to come in five sets. If the match goes three sets, Federer wins. If it goes four, Roddick has a very slight chance but if it goes five, who knows.

I won't be waking up at 6 a.m. to watch it live so the DVR better not screw up the recording.

So far Andy is hitting 77% of his 1st serves and winning 84% of those. Even if Andy can't break, testing his luck with tie-breakers is not a bad idea.

Horrible tiebreak choke by Roddick, losing 4 straight set points as Federer wins 6 straight points to win the 2nd 8-6. Hopefully it doesn't get into his head as he has been serving lights out.
