Yeah, being traded for a backup catcher isn't exactly a career highlight.

A backup catcher who the Mets were desperately trying to trade before having to release him and pay him his entire salary in the next week.

Broadway never has been able to figure it out in either AAA or the majors. A couple of mediocre years in AAA can really ruin a career.

Minaya's gonna feel really stupid when he finds out Broadway is white.

What a horrible trade by the Mets.

Nah.

Addition by Subtraction.

Schneider just got back from the DL, and Omar Santos passed him on the depth chart. All I think the Mets want out of Broadway is an innings eater in AAA.

Santos has a career 650 minor league OPS and he's 29 years old. Castro was the best of their 3 catchers and they just gave him away so they could keep a 29 year old minor leaguer and the dried up husk of Brian Schneider's career.

Ideally, yeah, Schneider should have gone. But, he was untradable.

Santos seems to be playing the best of the three right now. Although Schneider will probably get the most playing time.
