Latest from cubs.com says fukudome's former coach (from Japan) is helping with his swing.

I guess I don't care why he's hitting, but is there any way for this guy to be hired as Fuk's assistant or in some unofficial capacity to keep him around. If he's helping him, I want him helping as much as possible.

MLB has put a limit to the number of bench personel that teams have have around, I think in response to all the "dieticians, nutritionists and strength coaches" that were around earlier this decade.

Is this the guy who they say used to punch his players in the face when they mess up? Maybe hes been working with Lee and Soto lately. They seem to be heating up. Just take care of Fontenot now and then send him to the bullpen.

Really if you read the article there really isnt a need for the guy to be hired by the Cubs. Hes being sent DVD's of Fuku's swing, and will be coming back to the US in July to meet with Fuku again. So basically hes a free hitting coach for the Cubs every couple of months. Also in the article, it talks about Fukus elbow causing alot of his problems last year, and he changed stuff mechanically, which the hitting coach from Japan noticed. It would definately make sense why he started out so well, and then struggled as the season went on and the elbow started bothering him more. Whatever the reason, I really dont care as long as Fuku keeps up with the season hes having so far.

If the spinorama rears its ugly head again like it did late last year, send the coach the DVD right away. Kosuke is good hitter when he stays in, if its because of his elbow then good they found the source.

He's done that a few times this year, but since his numbers are fine people haven't complained.

Actually I think the "spin-o-rama", as you put it, is part of the plan. The Japanese coach talked about him using his momentum. The same momentum that results in power when there's contact, results in spinning when there isn't.

Hmmm, maybe ive missed some of those. At the middle to end of last year the severity was pretty extreme, he was drilling himself to the center of the world on the outside low and away pitches.
