Harrison is off to a real nice start in the minors. .939 OPS for a 2B this year  and a .970 OPS in Boise last year for 30 games. Seems to have a little speed with 5SB already (though he has 5 CS). At only 21 yrs old, maybe he is a player to keep an eye on. Would be interested to see what Nate's thoughts on him are ? Solo HR for Vitters. Chiefs still down by a run in the 8th.

That's two in two days.

Yeah, kinda...

:-$

I'm going to go ahead and take 1 strikeout from Vitters' stat line and 1 home run whenever I calculate his stats.

He's a scrappy 2B with some pop in his bat and a bit of speed. The guy plays with swagger and confidence, but he's going to have to prove himself at every level as he advances through the system. Unless he develops some unexpected power, the guy is pretty much going to be relegated to one of those under the radar guys who won't get the benefit of the doubt if he struggles at a given level. He's a fairly short guy (listed at 5'8, wouldn't be surprised if he was an inch or two shorter) and it's hard to envision him ending up as a starting 2B down the road given his size and skill set.

However, if he keeps hitting the way he has been, he'll be a very interesting prospect for the Cubs.

so we are assuming it was a home run?

Im getting more and more intrigued with this Chris Robinson. 3-4 with 3 doubles and 4 RBI and hitting .386 with a .911 OPS.

The only concern I have with him is the fact that he has one walk on the season. He's shown decent patience in the past, though, so I think he'll make that adjustment with time.

Still, considering we got him in exchange for Neifi, anything we get out of him is pure gravy.

Apparently there were more home run shenanigans with Peoria tonight...

Harrison reached base for the fourth time when Lansing’s first baseman Mike McDade booted his leadoff grounder in the top of the 9th. Rundle followed with a sharp single to right and then Rebel Ridling hit a three run homer down the line in left. Or so most everyone thought. The ball was hit so hard and bounced back onto the field off a portion of the left field wall so quickly that initially the home plate umpire gave no “home run” hand signal. The entire Chiefs team was standing up in front of their dugout pointing down the left field line and calling for a homer as Harrison and Rundle circled the bases- Rundle even drew a throw as he slid in safely at the plate.

Chief’s manager Marty Revey came down the line from his third base coaches’ box and asked the plate umpire to consult with the umpire at second. The consult was short and sweet: Home Run! The Chiefs led 7-6.

Minorleaguebaseball.com agrees with Raisin it appears. They have him with 3 homers.

Actually, he hit a HR this morning. His first HR was earlier in the season.

He should be up to 4 now.

Nah. This was yesterday's minor league thread and Vitters' hit #3 in today's game. I was referring to the potentially poor call the ump made on 5/4.

Yeah I followed that, didn't realize the Chiefs played early today. Either way it is awesome to see him start mashing the ball.
