I already saw him. :D

Better hurry yourself up if you want to go see Vitters! Heck, Flaherty might not even be in Peoria any more come June if he keeps this up.

With Cotts being so bad, and Samardz having some good outings, I could also see Samardz coming up to replace Cotts, with Marshall moving to pen.

Had Papelbon not been rocked yesterday, he would have been the best candidate to take the pen lefty spot. I know hes never been past AA, but Iowa doesnt have any lefty worth bringing up.

Waddell would be a better desperation option than Papelbon, but I wouldn't really see the point of calling up either one at this point. As useless as Cotts has been he most likely will be just as good or better than either of those two.

Agreed...Shafer too, if he keeps things up. Generally we'll see that sort of movement right before the all-star break (also pretty close to when the draft is, so not too shocking)

Unless something drastic happens in the next few months, we're going to have to trade for a left handed bullpen option.

College guys in their first full pro season (Shafer, Flaherty) tend to be moved up a bit more aggressively than the standard midseason promotion. Especially if they had a real chance at making a team at a higher level right out of the spring like I think Shafer and Flaherty did.

Des Moines Register[/url]"]“He just made one mistake, and got that ball up in the zone,” Iowa manager Bobby Dickerson said. “Other than that, he was pretty much in command. He had a good slider, a good split.”

Samardzija showed greater command of a wider variety of pitches than did Norris. Four of his five strikeouts were on off-speed pitches.
