I'm glad I didnt subscribe to MLB.tv this year. I couldn't bring myself to waste money on this soapdropping team.

Bears FTW. Season can't start soon enough.

Except the Cubs are a much better team than the Bears.

He was probably just as likely as Hoffpauir to randomly explode and hit 37 HRs

Talking about likelihood is useful before something happens. Afterward it is irrelevant. It happened. Now you know that everyone who said it wouldn't happen was wrong. Comparing him to Hoffpauir is something you could have done back when you knew less about him.

And as I type...

Yeah you proved my point wrong because Ludwick hit a home run as we were discussing this. Is GWRB down today or something?

What? The homerun was an ironic coincidence.

I know, I was just upset from the HR momentarily, and then found like 3 Cardinals posters talking about the home run and I wondered how we became a place for Cardinals fans to come when their team is beating ours. Your fine, you've cemented yourself as a tolerable Cards fan.

I disagree. We're gonna with the North, and with our DEF finally getting some rest with our offense getting better....it's gonna be a fun season.

Past 3 years has been all defense and special teams. Add a good QB to the mix.

I'm sorry. This team isn't winning 80 games this year the way they're playing.

The pitching and lack of clutch hitting scares me.

There isn't any such thing as clutch hitting. You either have hitting, or you don't.

Let's see if we can't waste this opportunity.

Of course they'll waste it. Its there thing that they do.

Leadoff double with your 3-4-5 hitters up and the runner never advances to 3rd? Yup that's us.

Yeah, there's no real comparison with what Ludwick has done the past two seasons and Hoffpauir.

And yet none of that makes them the best team in their conference(/league) or one of the top 3 or 4 in the NFL. The Cubs are.

I'm not saying I'm not excited about the Bears. I'm just saying you're undercutting the Cubs because you're mad right now.

My point is that Micah and Ludwick were forgotten guys in the late 20s who always had plus raw power which didn't materialize until after they were 26 or so in the minors. Micah wasn't a great prospect, but his bat was never completely unquestioned. He had no position and didn't produce enough to be a first baseman.

The Cubs at least have the argument that they saw something in Micah, he's been in the organization forever. The Cardinals pretty much took trash and it became gold. There's a complete difference there, but that's it. Really it's guys coming out of nowhere who are well past prospect age who hit like an all star.

It's because I'm from Illinois.
