Josh Vitters is back in Peoria's lineup after missing 1 game with that lower back strain.

Ryan Flaherty is batting 8th. :-s

Pretty sure for the first couple of games, he was in the 7th spot...Nelson Perez is our clean-up guy, and just haven't seen much out of him yet. Am hoping he's just a little slow in coming around, but am surprised he's continued to hit where he's at.

NSBB love from Nate on the radio! hope you're staying warm, Nate - I'm hoping to get down there for the last part of the 2nd game...

Good things happen when Nelson can make contact with the ball. He just needs to make more contact with the ball.

Flaherty is now hitting .462 with a 1.269 OPS. But he's batting 8th.

(I know, it's only 14 plate appearances).

He was hit around a bit but at least Beliveau only had 1 BB in 3 innings (he had 29 in 35.1 innings last year).

I think the opposing clubs will eventually get the scouting report on Perez.....he is a fastball only hitter that will be back to the mound if he continues to struggle with the offspeed stuff.

Peoria wins game one 5-4. Perconte came in for Beliveau and threw 3 scoreless and hitless innings.

Nelson Perez got another XBH and even got a walk in game two. I think it took him like 100 at bats before he walked for the first time last season down in Mesa.

Ryan Flaherty continues to hit well and played at second base in both games.

I was going to mention what you just did. Games 1 and 2 Flaherty SS/Lake 2B. Both games today reversed. And the game when Vitters was out on Saturday, Flaherty moved to 3B.

Will be interesting to see whether they flip-flip Lake/Flaherty periodically, or have just kind of decided that flaherty isn't going to be a SS and why delay the inevitable.

Perez already has 2BB/3K. If he maintains that kind of ratio, he could surprise.

I still can't help but call him "Neifi" when I see N Perez.

Lake, who profiled as a potential walk-hater, also seems to be taking a few.

Kreier off to a good start thus far.

In regards to why delay the inevitable...it's also far more important that Lake get as many reps as possible at SS since there's a better chance he can play there and since he's so raw.

All of this keeps Harrison DHing and not playing at second base, though.

Whoops, James Leverton started for Daytona. Drew Rundle finally got his first Daytona hit - it was a 2-RBI double.

Jake Fox with a HR, he continues to rake.
