The irony for me was the fact that Campbell was the only one to cry about it... he did almost an identical hit on Umberger a couple years ago:

Which all of you have likely seen.

well, campbell was saying it was dirty because his arm came up...something brian didn't do on the umberger hit. he kept his shoulder down

The puck is also clearly on the stick of Umberger, which isn't the same as Havlat. The two hits aren't really the same, IMO.

I've seen the play 20 times, like everyone. While certainly there can be debate on it, if the league is actually going to be cleaning up dangerous plays, then I can understand why Kron was called to task on it.

I don't think it means Kron's a dirty player, but that play it clearly looks to me that he was trying to injure Havlat.

Does that mean I think the Hawks are always innocent? Of course not.

I just have a feeling that if the Hawks are down big going into the 3rd that Kronwall's target on his back is unfortunately going to grow. We all know Eager likes to stick up for his teammates and isn't the cleanest player in the league... hope the Hawks don't do something really stupid.

The puck being near Havlat' stick offered Kronwal the perfect opportunity and excuse to potentially take Halvat' out of the game and feign innocence. Sure, it was "clean" but, it was also gutless because Havlat' head was down and there was not intent on the puck.

I wonder what their reaction would be should it have been Red Wing taken out in such a manner.

so is Khabi out completely or would he be available in a backup role?

He's out I believe... Crawford is on the roster sheet.

So do the Red Wings go with Cheli today? I hope so.

Yup, they showed him dressing. I look forward to him getting walked around a couple times today.

I don't remember hearing anything about Lidstrom being hurt. Great news.

Havlat playing would be a boost, even if he doesn't contribute.

And I really hope NBC shows the anthem. Should be a wild crowd today.

No excuse not to win this game.

Cristobal [expletive] Huet

He's not that bad. Khabibulin is better, but Huet isn't that bad.

yah khabi is better...but its not a massive downgrade. its pretty marginal really.
