Go Wings. I've had my heart broken too many times recently because I wanted to play what I thought was the inferior team.

 

but the wings are like the russian national team. they are a machine. makes for good theatre if we can take em deep, though. plus, they've had a good whoopin coming from the hawks for a long time.

 

 

Hawks have played them tough all season. They need to play the full 60min against them and it'll be a great series.

Yep and that was when the Hawks were hot too. The Wings are scary good. The Hawks will have to bring their A game.

Your boys pounded us in December/January when it mattered, but I think the Hawks firepower can punch more than a few holes in Osgood.

Exactly. When Detroit had an reason to play, they made the Hawks look bad with ease. I'd be shocked and happy with taking it to six against Detroit.

I didn't miss it. The one "blowout" was before the WC. Everything else has been close IMO. I like how they closed out their season against them.

I haven't seriously watched any hockey in 35-40 years now..... whenever it was that old man Wirtz took 'em off the air. After watching the last game and then tonight.... wow !! I am really impressed.

I was wrong about that, but it'd be unfair to try to paint this as me being pessimistic. I was quite sure they'd beat Calgary, even when people on here were freaking out that it was 2-2. If we get Anaheim, I think we win that series. If we get to the Cup finals, I think we have a decent shot against any of them. But I thought Vancouver was a bad matchup for us and I think Detroit is just plain better.

Oh man, while I'm thinking about it, Brian Campbell.

 

He was awesome the last three games of the series. Absolutely awesome. I like him more than some, but he can be maddening and I've called his contract the biggest impediment to this core winning a Cup, but he deserves praise right now.

You will also be very pleased that my section (315) started the DE-TROIT SUCKS! chant... I was./am pretty hammered and everytime i got up for beer or pee I told everyone in the last 2 minutes if we had a lead to start it. I was with 6 bguddies so we just went to town on it and all of 315 joined in... it didn't really catch on until like a couple minutes later.
