I'm not that pessimistic, but I am nervous.

 

I heard a little Hawks talk on 670 this evening (about knocked me over -- Hawk talk on The Score!), and the host was arguing that this is the least important game of the series for the Hawks. I know what he was saying. It's far from time to panic if they lose this game.

And personally, I don't think Calgary can hold onto a 1 goal lead in this game. I think this game will eventually end up 4-2 Hawks.

i think this series has been a lot closer than people here are acting like. the hawks are 2-0 but its been pretty evenly played throughout, and the flames are outplaying them tonight. they win this one and theyre one home win away from tying it and taking all the momentum

Just like the Blackhawks didn't have momentum for their two close-played wins, Calgary doesn't get any for a close-played win tonight.

 

IF Calgary can hold on for 20 more minutes and IF they win game 4, they are still in a best of 3 with two games in a building they are 0-4 in.

 

They need two ifs to go there way just to get to the status of small underdog.

Rene Borque looks like he is the "random scrub who always beats my favorite team but has no business doing so" in this series. It doesn't matter what sport it is. In a big series/game some crappy player is always going to play way over his head against my favorite team.

I don't think the Hawks are going to pull this out because I think Bulin is going to give up another goal or two. He didn't have a good angle on the first goal, and he then gave up a few bad rebounds. He just hasn't looked sharp tonight. It didn't get noticed because the Flames had few decent chances through the first 35 minutes of the game.

 

I'm not saying he should have stopped the first goal. But he left way too much open net for them to shoot at.
