This is awesome...the Hawks made it through their opening jitters that they obviously had, they took Calgary's best shot, and still came back and won.

 

Look to see a much more calm and in control Blackhawks team in Game 2.

Yeah, I think you're right. Calgary looked inspired (and the Hawks looked bad) through about 12 minutes of the 2nd period. Then the Hawks really started playing well. During the 3rd period, the Hawks were clearly the better team, though they did make a few really dumb plays... but that's hockey.

Great outcome. Can't call it a great game because the Hawks were so outplayed most of the night. The crowd was really fired up and into the game.

 

Kane needs to pick his game up. Bourque showed him what playoff hockey is about. No beefs with anyone else, save for the usual bad passes by Yalmarrson and Matty Walker.

Watching the replay, Marty appeared to be tapping his stick on the ice to get Bolland's attention when he was still back in the neutral zone. And Bolland waited until just the right moment. Havlat's vision out there is just amazing.

 

But, I have to say, Barker's goal and the winner were sort of soft. Kipper made the tough saves, but I'm sure he wishes he had those two back.

He scored with 19:50 left in the period, but an additional two seconds ticked off. I'm still going to say he scored 10 seconds into OT, but that's basically irrelevant.

 

I watched the game from the start of the 3rd period at BWW and there were so many Hawk fans there. It was definitely nice to see. Let's take control of the series on Saturday :)
