As I was renewing a couple of sponsorships last night I thought that, since several NSBB members sponsor pages on these sites, it might be worth a sticky thread to post links to them for other NSBB members to see. I mainly intend this for Cubs sponsorships, but feel free to post sponsorships of non-Cubs that you think might be of interest. I have two:

1959 Cubs Team Page (Baseball Reference)

Carlos Marmol Player Page (Baseball Cube)

We need to get our hands on the 2009 Cubs page, in case they finally get it done this year.

I remember being annoyed that nobody here had the 08 page.

what does it cost to sponsor a page for a year?

It varies. I think my Kessinger was like $15 and the Eddie Grant one I did was $5. For some of the big dogs like a Ruth or A-Rod or something it is up in the hundreds. I'm kicking myself a bit because Billy Williams was open a few months ago and was only like $30 or so, which is pretty damn cheap for a Hall of Famer's page.

they jacked the price up to renew my adam dunn page.

wow $220 for dunn? that's crazy.

it was 50 when i got it.

yeah anything up above $200 used to be reserved for really great players and hall of famers like cobb or something.

They base the price on traffic, so if a player's page gets a lot of hits, the price will go up. My guess is that we made Dunn's page rise a whole bunch over the past year.

plus he changed locations twice... i'm guessing that plus nsbb fetish combined to make his price outrageous.

Funny you mention Cobb because I just noticed what his sponsorship says on baseball cube:

The greatest hitter ever!, no contest. I once had a dream he was trying to kill me.... I woke up and his bobblehead was bobbling.... still scary.

What does sponsoring the page do? Is it like an advertisement? Do you make money off it?

I believe it's just a donation to the site that allows them to keep working the magic that they do.

You do get to put your name, and a link to a website, on the page you're sponsoring.

I keep waiting for their auction prices to drop...but they don't seem to be slipping at all.
