I never forgave Berryhill for replacing Jody Davis, my childhood hero.

I always wished injury and other bad things on him. He never was worth a crap, either. I'd much rather have had an aging Jody Jody Davis than a young POS Dingle Berryhill.

Remember when this guy was gong to force Sandberg to SS or 3B?

I love the high quality job Topps did on the Larry Cox Mariners cap. They used to do this with all the players that changed teams after Topps' deadline to take the pictures. It's funny that they even bothered - like it would freak people out too much to have the player with a different cap so they get some 6th grader to color over the old one.

One of the few good things that happened during the 2006 season:

Michael Barrett's grand slam off of Izzy on Sunday Night Baseball against the Cardinals on the first weekend of the season.

Mark Prior: 2 hits, 8 innings, 8 Ks, 0 bbs, against Houston. Also I learned that you could in fact get kicked out of the bleachers for throwing a warm-up ball back when Lance Berkman threw the ball in.

Prior's first start, striking out 10 in 6 innings. I was so psyched.

Barrett had some great homers.

I still miss him a bit, but Geo does help.

Geo is everything that was great about Barrett combined with everything that Barrett couldn't do all that well.

Yup. Outside of that homer, the only positives I remember out of that season were Rich Hill's last month of starts.
