Is it just me or are all these people terrible at their job? Every one of them just tries to out scoop the other, and are wrong about 95 percent of the time. I just don't see how some of these people aren't held accountable every now and then for being so bad at their job. If you or me made as many mistakes as these people do when they say a deal is very close or done, and then 30 minutes later it is off the table, then we'd all be fired. No reporters do any thorough research anymore. It is annoying as a fan.

You talking baseball newspaper reporters or baseball ESPN pseudo reporters? ESPN lost all its journalistic integrity a decade ago and are solely entertainment. Most newspapers only report on fact still.

I don't see much wrong with people saying "very close" and then having it off the table. These things can get very close before falling apart. My problem is when they talk of things being done and then they fall apart.

Yeah, ESPN is just entertainment.

Newspaper reporters are just doing their job. They report the news. If they hear from a source that a deal "is very close" it's not their fault if the deal is off the table after the report comes out. That's what they do, report. Would you rather not hear anything ever?

After the last two years with Roberts and Peavy. I would just assume no to hear anything.
