i don't care how much we lose by, that awful pay calling on the goal line stand destroyed the season.

you mean running the ball three times from the one yard line, and expecting to get it in... what was Turner thinking?

Well I don't know. There's running the ball and theres handing it to the FB for his first NFL carry on a play that has worked 0 out of the 10 times we've used it this year. There's a HB draw on 3rd and 2, and theres a HB draw on 4th and 1 inch.

it wasnt a draw, don't be ridiculous. if you cant gain one yard on 3 tries then you should probably forfeit, which would have been a good idea in hind sight.

They lost because they all played like crap especially Orton.

that is true but that goal line stand completely changed the game. they would have been up by 11 and at the very worst they'd still be in the game right now.

going for it is a completely different story. but they ran the ball twice with the NFL's fifth leading rusher, blaming the play calling on that series on losing the game is absolute idiocy.

So the Bears are essentially 2 games behind Minnesota with 4 to play.

All of this is assuming the Vikings beat Detroit. If they lose to Detroit then its open again.

What's the 4th tie breaker? They'll have equal head to head, division, and conference records. Unless I'm adding wrong.

1. H2H - Assuming we lost this weekend, 1-1

2. Divison record - Currently: CHI 3-1, MIN 2-2. Assuming CHI loses to MIN and MIN beats DET and CHI beats GB, its CHI - 4-2, MIN - 4-2

3. Common teams W-L: Again record amongst non common teams. 2-0 for Chicago, 0-0 for Min (they play NYG and ARI). If the Bears or Vikings are to tie, the Vikings would need to win both those non-common games to advance to a tie. But also, you would have to assume they beat CHI this week as part of the original scenario, meaning the Vikings would have at a minimum 9 wins. But also, part of the scenario is they beat Detroit, that makes it 10 wins. If the Vikings finish with 10 wins, in beating the Bears along the way, the Bears would have to win out on all the rest of their games to tie the Vikings. So if that scenario occurs, the Bears are still alive. (still following me?)

4. Conference record - Currently: CHI 5-4, MIN 4-3. Again, to get to this point we have to make the following assumptions: MIN over CHI, NYG, ARI, DET, ATL over MIN, CHI over everyone but MIN. If those assumptions don't occur, the Bears are already eliminated, OR the original scenario proposed above doesn't apply. So that would put the Vikings conference record at 8-4, and the Bears conference record at 7-5. Bears eliminated, Vikings win division.

Running with the f ullback on 3rd down was horrible, going for it on 4th down was idiotic too.

God, what a horrible game for Orton.

You want to blame one guy... blame Orton. What a garbage pass.

lots of blame in this one. poor blocking, dropped passes, bad throws, bad tackling, breakdowns in coverage. they even beat us in special teams. i think Forte is the only player that had a good game overall.

He still only had just over 20 carries, which is the opposite of what they should do even when behind. Why void your only offensive weapon?

Orton isn't the only one who had a bad game, hell of a lot of guys deserve tons of blame.

Orton is 0-3 with 2 INTs in the 4th quarter, and the Bears have run only 5 offensive plays in the 4th quarter for 3 total yards, with 3 of them turning the ball over (2 INTs, 1 punt) Edited by UMFan83

Totally agree. But if you want to blame one guy..

3 ints=14 points and counting.

Well Detroit's a given. But if they lose to Arizona and Atlanta and the Bears... ah... who am I kidding.

Why is Orton in still? There is no reason he should be in here.

Basically the Bears would have to go 3-1 and the Vikings 1-3 or something, with that 1 win coming against the Lions.

Protect him from what? He needs to earn his paycheck, and next years.

Is this for the GB game or this week's?

Lovie is a horrible in-game coach.

Both.

Lovie is brutal.
