Man, if Iowa loses out on a New Year's Day bowl because of Purdue I am going to be pissed.

I still don't like Stanzi

In his defense it is windy as Hell there. I love our defense, if we had any sort of a passing game we would be in contention for the national title.

Zook just had a really tough call to make. I think I agreed with it, but wanted to see what people thought.

Illinois set up in FG formation for a 55 yarder, they quick kicked and downed the ball inside the OSU 1. OSU was flagged for a penalty on the play which would then set up a potential 50 yard FG. Illinois declined and gave OSU the ball inside the 1 instead.

Now we did have the wind at our back, and our kicker had hit a 44(I think) yarder earlier with the wind fairly easily. But I'm a big fan of burying a team in their own territory. Thoughts?

He has made some terrible decisions, I wish we had a good QB somewhere

Pardon me for being Sulley but that is not a effing penalty. The ball was falling after the tip and the WR went to reach for it.

Are you talking about the Illinois game? If you are I thought that call was crap too. It's football for God's sake.

how can they call a late hit if the ball was in the air and how can they call pass intereference if the pass was tipped?

it's because if you are a team like illinois you have to play against more than just football players when you play the buckeyes. it's why they can't win against a top team outside the conference, because the refs aren't instructed to make sure they have a shot at the national championship when the game is over.

Yes, and the announcers defending the call just pisses me off even more, saying the WR wasn't going for the ball as he is clearly looking and reaching for the ball that is falling from the air within a couple yards of him. He certainly wasn't going to catch it, but there's no way for the Illinois defender to know that.

hardeman was guilty of hitting the ohio state guy too hard, and that's it. you can't someone from ohio state so hard if you aren't florida or usc or some other sec school that far outclasses them in every single way.

nobody knows illinois even has a football team.

That was a horrendous spot on 3rd down.

I don't think there's a planned movement to ref favorably for the big name teams. But when it comes to the end of the season and you've got one team in your conference with a chance at a BCS berth, and that's it, there are definitely conflicts of interest involved.

DUMBASS PITCH MILLER What the hell is wrong with you?

if the buckeyes have a shot at a bcs title berth, regardless of when the game is played, the refs are going to give the benefit of the doubt to them, especially against a nobody like us.
