Might not be TJS:

ESPN Blog"]On an additional injury note, Cubs outfielder Tyler Colvin has been pulled from the AFL due to a bone spur in his elbow, and he's scheduled to have surgery this week.

Confirmed by the Cubs that Colvin had TJS. Oneri Fleita seems to think Colvin won't miss much of the 2009 season:

MLB.com"]"He had successful surgery about two weeks ago," Fleita said. "He's had a few bouts with the elbow. When he went to play in Taiwan last year he had an episode. It's flared up a few times in the last 18 months. Speculating on my own, I think it might have hampered his swing. He's the kind of guy that plays through injury, though. The severity of the injury was a surprise because he played through it. He's one tough nut.

"If there is a silver lining, though, it's that it was Tommy John surgery and not a shoulder. A position player can come back from this much quicker than a pitcher. He's a great worker and I'd be surprised if he missed more than two or three weeks next season. The doctors' work on something like this is magical, and it will be five or six months depending on how things go."

TJS for a hitter isnt that big of a deal. Hell be back by May at the latest. Maybe not playing the OF every day, but he'll be swinging at first pitches and flailing at sliders in April in all likelihood.
