if it's at 1:30 wednesday, i'm probably going to miss the entire freaking game. i guess playoff baseball goes four hours quite a bit, so maybe i'll catch an inning.

I had been planning on taking a personal day or two coming up, but I don't think I could pull both wednesday and thursday off without people pissing and moaning.

1:30 is just ridiculous. the 3pm one is at least sort of passable, as it's toward the end of a workday.

EDIT:

Those times were EDT. That start is 12:30 central, which is dumber than making Frostwyrm Obama's bodyguard.

this is a disaster as far as i'm concerned. jesus christ.

Playoff baseball at Wrigley in the sunshine?

How the hell can you complain about that? That's perfect - listen to it on the radio or follow along on mlb.tv or whatever.

I can't believe people are getting pissy about playoff times.

I can complain about it because I don't give a rats ass about the nostalgia/old timey happy fun memoryness of day baseball at Wrigley. I care about 75% of the fanbase being able to see the game without having to miss work. I care about me seeing the game without having to miss work. It pisses me off. It's bs that the biggest ratings draw will likely be on at the worst possible time.

I don't know how it can be nostalgic when they play over 1/2 their home games in the afternoon. I'm happy they are in the playoffs, home field throughout the NL portion and have a better team than any of the previous playoff appearances. So what if it's an inconvenience for you, if you really want to watch it, you'll find a way.

Pretty much. Homefield, best team in the league, and most of us will miss the first 2 games because MLB decided to give a 2nd rate superstation 1st round exclusive rights.

I'm going to give you a pass because of the "Sunny" quote in your sig, but come on. Playoff games shouldn't be on at 12:30pm.

And if it were just some small subsection of the fanbase that this was going to affect, and I was part of that, fine, but putting a game on at 12:30 isn't just a crap thing for me and like nearly every other fan who's a typical 9-5 office loser, but it's a dumbass business decision by TBS, because they are guaranteeing the worst possible ratings for their best possible draw.

I would pray that the Cubs/Mets series (if that is what it is) would get moved to another time. That has to be the biggest draw, at least right there with Angels/Red Sox and WAY higher than Dodgers/Phillies or White Sox/Rays. The Rays can't even sell out in a pennant race in the second to last week of the season against the team they're racing!!!

well, looks like i'm skipping class those days.

Both Wednesday and Thursday I have pretty much unskippable classes at 2:00. I only have four all week long and these games are most likely going to be going on during two of those.

How come they can't put half the games on TNT? It makes me so mad. Just go back to the ESPN/Fox system, or, I say, Fox and FX.

That's what I'd like. Fox and FX to just take care of everything.

Yeah, it is a bad ratings decision and sure I wish it was on at a more accessible time. The comments just went a little overboard and Ithought a little perspective was in order. If, at the worst, you're stuck with listening to Pat & Ron and following along on the internet, that's far better than listening to any moronic broadcast team we get from TBS or the endless commercials for whatever TV show they are promoting.

Don't they know that I will always equate Frank TV with the Cubs getting swept by the DBacks? Which makes me never want to watch Frank TV. Maybe if it wasn't in my face the entire time. My memories of the 2007 postseason: Geo's dinger, Lilly't glove toss, ARam 0-for-12, Dick Stockton is a moron, Frank TV is annoying.

I'll take pictures on mute over radio and no pictures any day.

Listening on a radio at work is NOT better than watching it on TV.

I would figure when push comes to shove, they'll push the Cubs to a prime time slot. I mean, more than likely, we're looking at LA or New York's market being involved in the match up too. Seems ridiculously stupid to promote the ALCS over taking the better ratings-grabber.

My employer actually expects me to work.

I'll be able to watch them, but still, I HATE day playoff games. Night games always feel much more exciting.

A World Series day game at Wrigley would be legendary though.

Am I reading this right? If the Brewers win the WC, will the Cubs be playing game 4 Sunday night starting at 930 central? That would also have game 4 out in LA starting at 3pm pacific. I doubt TBS is smart enough to allow for this, but I'm hoping the designation of which is series A and which is B can be switched throughout the series.

doesnt the team with the best record get to choose the schedule they want

???

I believe that only applies in the league that won the All-Star game, in this case the AL.
