Ryan Braun:

"They're probably drinking champagne and having in a beer shower right now in our locker room while we sulk about what happened here," said Braun. "It's ironic, where we're at as a team and how we feel at the end of this series and see them celebrating a no-hitter on our field.

"The way things are going, it doesn't surprise me. It's almost fitting."

As bad as they've been playing, they will be amped for this upcoming series.

Weren't the Cubs in the vistor locker room. However the Astros were sulking in the Brewers locker room just like they after the Cubs last trip to Miller Park.

Or they'll just continue to really suck and we'll (if we also win today) eliminate them from the division race.

It's aggravating that this isn't even the big story on ESPN.com.

Jay Cutler and Matt Cassell? Seriously?

There is a feature right in the middle of the page.

It was the lead story on Sportscenter lastnight.

Yeah, at the top right. I see that. Did you really not understand what I mean when I say that it's not the big story, i.e. the main story?

The Cubs better win the World Series before they tear down Wrigley. If they ever move out of there, it might just cause me to stop caring.

Seriously?

Yes, seriously. The Cubs without Wrigley Field just wouldn't be the Cubs to me.

Wow.

Even more puzzling about this is the fact that you don't even live anywhere near Chicago...

Even if you did, though, I still wouldn't get it.

What the??

How would he not living anywhere near Chicago mean anything at all? I was raised in Chicago. I lived in downtown Chicago for a year. I'm a Cubs fan. I currently live in Colorado. Does this mean that I don't get to have an opinion about Wrigley Field?

There is, but I can't help but agree with Mizzou here. Why the hell isn't it the main story? I know football is more popular in this country than baseball, but wtf is a run of the mill football story in September doing as the main story over a Cubs no-hitter in September?

Because he doesn't even get to see many games there? I thought that would be fairly clear. I don't know what the part about "getting to have an opinion about Wrigley Field" even means, but being a fan of a ballpark over being a fan of a team makes little sense to me. Being a fan of a ballpark that you only see on TV makes even less sense.

Actually, on the other hand, that could be a reason someone like me would be more accepting of a new park, as I see Wrigley's pitfalls every time I go while on TV Wrigley is just a beautiful park and nothing more.

That said, I'd miss it and hope they build the new park, whenever that may be, on the same site. Play a year or two at Miller or Comiskey, I don't care.

Man, people sure do like to whine.

The lead story on ESPN.com changes all the time. I would bet Z's no hitter was right there at one point. It's got it's own little feature with multiple story links right in the middle at the top of the front page.

Quit bitching and enjoy the moment.

It was last night when it happened, not sure when they switched it.

I checked about an hour after the game was over and again 2 hours after the game, and it was not there. It's been in the same place with a few different headlines pretty much since the game ended.

It wasn't. At least not last night and not since this morning (in fact, it was pretty much the same last night as it is now). Maybe sometime overnight it was, but I highly doubt that.

And I'm not bitching. Just agreeing with Mizzou. I hadn't even said a word about it till now.

If you are agreeing with somebody who is complaining about how aggravating it is that this is not the big front page story on ESPN.com, then yes, you are bitching.

This isn't May, when baseball is about the only thing going on. There's a ton of sports activities playing out right now, meaning lots of competition for storylines. It is one of the two scrolling features on CNNSI right now. There's plenty of attention being paid to it, and there was last night as well.

No, really, I'm not bitching.

I'm agreeing that it makes no sense to have random early regular season football games get more attention on the biggest national sports website than a historic pitching performance toward the end of the season.

Am I bothered by it? Not really.

LOL, oh the irony.

It wasn't the lead story last night, and it isn't now. If a Yankee pitched a no hitter we both know that it would be front story, no doubt about it. It's not a big deal, it's just a little annoying that the major sports media has a headline with Jay Cutler as top billing over the first Cubs no hitter in 36 years.

So it makes more sense to you to root for a uniform?

To me it's all a part of what makes the Cubs special. To change any of that would make me rethink my undying loyalty.

There are seven domed/indoor stadiums in MLB currently:

ARI

HOU

MIL

MIN

TB

TOR

SEA

Of the seven, only Houston and Arizona were to be playing at home this weekend. Therefore, there were 5 available. If McClain hadn't been an idiot and waited way to long, and then wanted to play in Atlanta, an open stadium when MLB did not want to risk the games being rained out and making the move pointless, he could have easily gotten the game played in a more truely neutral site (like there is one, the Cubs fans would always be the majority). MIN would have probably been out with MIL as being Northern, Tor and Sea due to distance, leaving TB.

Fair enough on the edit. I disagree.

haha, it's the top story now

Then again, the story is about how the fans went to go see the neutral site no-no, but that'll work too. Looks like they're having a chat or something about the fairness of the neutral site to the Astros.

where does this fall in your favorite moments as a cubs fan?

wood 20ks

z no-hitter

sammy 61st, 62nd etc

beating atl. in 2003

1. Sammy's game-tying HR in the 9th, Game 1 vs. Fla

2. Winning the NLDS in '03 (and watching/celebrating at the Cubby Bear)

3. Clinching the NL East in '89

4. Z's no-hitter

5. Andre Dawson hitting HR # 47 in his last AB at Wrigley in '87, and Harry going nuts

6. Wood's HR in Game 7 vs. Fla (I still believed, :()

7. Sammy's HR over the tree on Kenmore, because I was there.

Unfortunately I didn't know anything about Wood's 20K-game until a friend filled me in later that day. Great to see in hindsight but not the same as watching it live.
