Soriano had the 3-2 count and I said "Just throw it in the dirt Harang, he's gonna swing at it" and sure enough ball in the dirt and swing and miss inning over.

The new strategery for pitching to Soriano:

Throw 3 curveballs in the dirt 3 feet in front of the plate and watch him swing at all 3.

thats new?

Strike one should have been an obvious ball 3, in his defense. However, a major leaguer SHOULD NOT SWING AT A CURVE IN THE DIRT

Kinda reminded me of Sosa he used to swing at sliders 3 feet off the plate and in the dirt.

Towards the end, yeah, but not when he was in his prime. He moved away from the plate and lost his eye after getting hit in the head by Torres. Before, he could go the other way with power at will.

Guess every batter (no matter how good he is) thinks "Oh screw it, I'll just swingat anything that comes now" every once in a while.

Not someone like Pujols or Bonds

I wish people more had the thought in their head "I'm going to force the pitcher to get me out" like a lot of the best batters think

yeah, I'm going to say that every major leaguer has swung at a bad pitch once in his life.
